The Esik / Johnson Family of Kent, Ohio

                            Born in Eporjesk, Hungry  July 12, 1892

           Arrived New York February 1, 1907 on the 'Slavonia" at the  age of 15. Through Ellis Island. Port Of Departure was Fiume and last place of residence was "Magyoros" Hungry.

    She was to meet her brother who was responsible for her "Istvan Esik" in the USA.  Although the ships manifest states that she is a US citizen.  Later documents' she states that she was born in Hungry. The original Manifest shows she had $6 with her and she was traveling alone. 

1910 Census has her working as a servant in Youngstown, Ohio for the Charles Liebman Family.

  Charles Liebman family is connected to the Hungarian Reformed church in Youngstown.  The church sponsored Hungarians to the the USA and till a few years ago was still in operation by bringing in Gypsy's from Romania.  The church is now for sale.    Church
September 24, 1912 - She marries Peter Johnson in Youngstown, Ohio by the Justice of the Peace.

    Peter Johnson is from Bulgaria and had arrived in 1909. On the marriage license he spells his name "Fiti Gonson".  Also Julia mother's name was Esther.
